Today I finished all I could on my Mock Board patient. I am saving his lower right quadrant for Mock Boards on November 1. Scaling went really well this morning. I feel like I am improving on locating calculus and removing it from the tooth. I think the VA is to thank for my improvement. As of now I am done with all my Class 2, 5, and 1B patients. So, I am on the hunt for Class 3 patients. I have 5 quads completed so far of a Class 3 and I hope to get a few more at the VA before my time there ends. I only have two more weeks of the VA and I am going to kind of miss it. It is alot more laid back there and I really enjoy the VA patients.

Today at the VA!

Today was quite a day...very busy. I went to the VA today and I completed a Class 2 patient and a 1B patient in the morning and a Class 2 in the afternoon. Also, I was able to complete a full mouth series on my 1B patient because she needed them for the Peace Corps. In addition, I was able to complete my calculus removal PE and my infection control PE.

Class 2/Class 1B

Today was a pretty good day. This morning I had a Class 2 patient that I was able to complete. She was spanish-speaking, but I was able to communicate to her with Lily's help as well as with the translation website Tamara told me about. I was also able to complete my Selective Polishing PE today.
My patient for the afternoon cancelled and so I had to hurry and find another patient. Celeste helped me find one and he ended up being a Class 1B. He had to leave an hour earlier than the usual walkout time and I still was able to complete him. Wahoo!
I have also been going to the VA and I really like working on patient's there. Not only is it closer to my house, but I feel alot less pressured when I am there. At Weber, I feel like someone is always lurking over my shoulder to see if/when I will mess up. Stresses me out! Anyway, I have enjoyed working with the VA patients. Most of them are old men that have nothing better to do than to come get their teeth cleaned. It takes alot of the pressure off!
