Class 2-No Show

Today I had a Class 2 patient scheduled for the am and she did not show. I am kind of suprised because she has so much decay and she was told by her Dentist that he would not do any restorative work until she had a cleaning. I don't need her as a requirement, so I guess I will just save her until next semester. Hopefully she shows up then. This afternoon I have a 13 year old, I think!

So So Sad

This afternoon I had two patients scheduled (one tissue evaluation and one "who knows what"). My tissue evaluation guy totally spaced his appt. and the other's car broke down. Whatever! Liar! So, I am 0 for 2 this afternoon. Oh well! I have completed all my requirements and my additional quads. I just need to pass off my glucose PE.

Another Class 2

This morning I worked on a pt that is 22 years old and has never had a cleaning. She is a pt at Midtown, but they would not restore her decayed teeth until she had a cleaning. This pt had full-blown decay so much that certain surfaces of her teeth were completely missing. I felt really bad for her because she seemed to have never been taught how to properly brush or floss. She had tons of plaque, mild calculus and slight bone loss. I was only able to complete one quad today and 12 PAX to complete her set that was started at Midtown. She will be coming back in two weeks to complete the last 3 quads.

First Mock Board

This morning I saw my Mock Board patient. I had two hours to clean the lower right quadrant and I sure needed every minute. I missed a few spots of calculus, but overall, I feel pretty good about the experience. I am not sure if I passed yet, though. I look forward to more practice with scaling and the ultrasonic!
